Flower wonderland

Disney's Alice in Wonderland has influenced me alot since babyhood. I remember my parents show me Alice in Wonderland cartoon, and brought me colorful Alice in Wonderland story book when I was still in kindergarten. I understood nothing about this cartoon, I could hardly even read a word in that English story book, but I love the pictures, love all the characters and scenes. My long lasting love for flowers, cats, rabbits, pastries, teapot, mushrooms, bottles, pastel colors may all have been grown out from this cartoon.

The scene which fascinated me most is Alice talking to huge flowers. That scene is so beautiful. I started to dream of having a garden of my own but I live in high storey buildings all my life and never have the chance to own a garden. In order to partly fulfill my desire I decorated my home with plants and flowers (real or articifial ones) here and there. These flower arrangements become a very good backdrop for my small creations.

I love placing my needle felted birds and animals among the flowers, creating a dreamy and fairy tale like scene.

Clay pastries part 1

Pastries, especially those very good looking ones, are one of my favorite kind of food. Cakes will perish, I can not keep them forever, so I developed a hobby of making cakes that won't perish. My home has a corner which display cakes, I have 2 cake stands filled with cakes, but none of the cakes are edible, all of them are made from clay and plastics.

Will post more photos of my clay pastries later

Fukuyama Masaharu drawings

I seldom draw, I used to draw a lot during school days long time ago but stopped drawing once I left school. I love crafting more, if I have free time I prefer making some crafts instead of drawing. However there are times when I have the urge to pick up my pencil, especially when I saw subjects that I love. Usually those subjects will be animals or pretty celebrities.

This is a celebrity who I love to draw alot, Fukuyama Masaharu, a Japanese singer-songwriter & actor & radio personality with very good looks and FUNNY !! Even Beyonce once said " I love Fukuyama" publicly in a Japanese TV programme.

Nature bowls from Moon Flower Creations

A few months ago I found some beautiful felted wool bowls on etsy, the shape, the scalloped edges and the fillings appealed so much to me. I ordered a few items from this shop - Moon Flower Creations , including some bowls, nests and felted wool eggs.

When the parcel arrived I was even more in love with the bowls, they were so soft to touch and the smell (should be the scent of washing powder or softener) was so pleasing! They really are beautiful display of nature. I later ordered more of these nature bowls as gifts for my friends and Salina was so kind to complete the order within so short time for me, thank you Salina!!

Here is the link of the nature bowl on etsy : Felted Nature Bowl

The nature bowls hold mosses, lichens, feathers and acorns, I put some of my handmade felted wool acorns into the bowls and they look very lovely and match so well with the bowls.

wrap with dollies

I came across a set of rectangular dolly paper in a baking supplies shop, and thought they will look nice with my cookies so I put it in my shopping cart.  Before I used it for my cookies, I found it useful in another way. While I was searching for wrapping material for a present this set of dolly paper came into my sight, and I could visualize at once how pretty the present will look like after being wrapped by this paper.

Just as expected, the present looks great with a vintage accent

Homemade cookies

I've had a wonderful day at my friend's home a few days ago. My friend suggested to bake something on that day, so we decided we should make something quick and easy (I had not made any pastries for many years). She was my partner in cookery lessons during secondary school. After so many years she is still my cooking partner.

Magical leaf

Bought a "Magical Leaf" a few weeks ago, it looked like an ordinary leaf packed inside a plastic bag, without soil or water provided. I put this leaf in a container filled with water, 2 days later new roots grew out from the leaf edge. Very soon green leaves appeared.

After 1 week, more growth appeared. Then 2 more weeks passed, cute small new plants grew around the leaf.

7 weeks passed. The new plants are growing higher than the container. I wonder how tall they can get.

Toilet paper origami

I watched a Japanese TV programme the other day, saw some amazing Japanese guys folding ends of toilet paper. They created amazing objects and creatures out from these plain and ordinary toilet paper. This hobby is great! It makes toilet time so much fun!
This is what I have learned from that TV programme - a warm and tender heart in my own toilet.

Here is a Japanease website for toilet paper folding craft, it shows lots of designs and have tutorials : toilet origami. Here is the page for folding heart : heart folding

Totoro lunch boxes

Totoro is one of my favorite cartoon character. It is a spirit in the forest inside a Japanese animated movie called "My Neighbour Totoro". Besides Totoro, there are other magical creatures in the forest, some are smaller versions of Totoro. Totoro is loved by all Japanese, no matter young or old, for decades.

Many Japanese bring homemade food to work or to school, inorder to arouse appetite Japanese mamas will make or arrange food in a very pretty and creative manner. If my mama is willing to prepare a nice lunch box for me, I will definitely order one of these.
