Christmas terrarium

Merry Christmas!

I have new Christmas decorations this year. These tiny glass figures are bought from Hokkaido Japan in a beautiful town called Otaru. The main street of Otaru is filled with shops selling beautiful items made of glass and nice cafes, it is a pretty and relaxing place to spend an afternoon. 

I put the Christmas theme glass items inside glass jars and they become wonderful Christmas terrariums.

My handmade owls and Sleeping Beauty

I made a couple of needle felted owls and took some photos of them, the photos turn out to look something like a scene in the Sleeping Beauty. The color tone, the atmosphere and the subjects quite match with the forest scenes. Maybe Sleeping Beauty is the inspiration for my owls and nests but I was not aware of it all the time.

Robin birds in snow

When I think of old Christmas cards robin birds with winter berries often come to my mind. This combination is so warm and adorable, I love it so much. 

It inspired me of making these cute ornaments - robin birds in snowballs

Happy October ! Halloween is coming

Finally Autumn has come! I love Autumn, I love the cool and sunny weather and the fun of Halloween.

My needle felted bird has already dressed up for Halloween.

Water drop shape terrarium necklace

These sparkling necklaces are my latest creations. They resemble water drops hanging under leaves reflecting the beautiful colors of flowers surrounding them.

The water drop is a sealed little glass container. Some dried flower petals and tiny Swarovski crystals are inserted inside. The sparkling flower charm is Swarovski Elements crystal.

Animals are my favorite theme in my creations, especially those in the woodland. Perhaps I am deeply influenced by Disney classic movies like Bambi, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty that's why I love woodland animals alot.

Snowy mooncake, Mid Autumn Festival

Today is Mid Autumn Festival, the day Chinese people celebrate full moon. During this festival we eat alot of mooncakes, traditional mooncakes are made of very sweet lotus paste and duck egg yolks, in recent years there are many types of new mooncake created, snowy mooncake is one of them.
Snowy mooncake is a healthier version of traditional mooncake, they are unbaked and need to be kept inside the refrigerator. Their skin is snowy white and it is cold so it is called snowy.
This year I bought bunny shape snowy mooncakes, aren't they adorable? They looks so cute and lovely that eating them seems too cruel.

I found some plastic cute macaroon shells in Japan recently, I immediately know they can be excellent materials for my jewelry creations.

Decorating the macaroons are so much fun! 

These pretty mini macaroons look so real and delicious, really want to have a bite.
